Show AllDhampus Peak Climbing is one of the popular peak climbing trips in Nepal. The peak is located between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayas. Driving to Darbang from Kathmandu via Beni, the journey begins with the peak climbing assisting team. The trek itself is not less than the peak climbing trip that leads you through the glacier camp, Dhaulagiri base camp and the Dhampus pass. No doubt, the trip is really wonderful to get adventurous experience.
Least climbers have ascended the Dhampus peak, which is still mysterious peak. Alpine Excursion offers fully organized support for this trip. Although you can do a short trekking via Jomsom, the route via Dhaulagiri base camp is for the high adventure experience. The trail is so exciting with the dominance of the rhododendron forest. The steep climb up and down trail should not be underestimated. Crossing the French Pass at 5360 meters, you head towards the Dhampus high camp, which is situated at 5400 meters. Ensuring that you have learnt the climbing skills and with acclimatization, you attempt the summit of the peak at 6012 meters. The stunning Kaligandaki valley and the surrounding white peaks of the Tukuche and Dhaulagiri are just incredible. Trekking down via Aalubari, you trek through the Kaligandaki bank and finally conclude the trek at Jomsom. The trip offers you the best peak climbing experience with through the isolated trail in western Nepal.

Day 01Arrival at Kathmandu. Namaste and welcome to Nepal. Alpine Excursion Treks and expedition's representative welcome you warmly at the Tribhuwan International Airport and transfer to the hotel. You take rest and enjoy your meal in the evening. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02Kathmandu sightseeing and Dhampus peak climbing official procedure. After the breakfast, you set out for the sightseeing trip in the Kathmandu valley. Our expert tour guide shows you the UNESCO world heritage sites, which include Pashupatinath (the Hindu temple), Boudhanath (Buddhist stupa), Swayambhunath (Buddhist stupa and temple). Then, return back to the hotel. Beside this, the day can also be used for the peak climbing procedure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03Transfer to Darbang (1110m). In the morning, we fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara, which is a half an hour flight. Arriving Pokhara, take a drive to Beni and further transfer to Darbang by the private vehicle. The official trekking for the peak climbing begins from tomorrow. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 04Trek from Darbang to Sibang (1780m). From Darbang, we begin our trek following the Myagdi Khola and pass various mixed populated villages, mainly by the Chhetris and Gurung communities. Crossing the suspension bridge, we continually walk to the Sibang village. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 05Trek from Sibang to Muri (1720m). From Sibang, we begin to walk after the breakfast, following the relatively easy trail, dominated by the rice and wheat field. Various ethnic communities located on our trail as we head forward. Crossing the bridge, over the Dhara Khola, we trek further to the Muri village. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 06Trek from Muri to Boghara (2080m).Leaving Muri, we follow the trial that goes down through the steep slope side and reach to the Muri Khola. We cross over the suspension bridge and walk through the dense woods of the bamboos. We can see some farmhouses there. The trail through the north direction gradually leads us to Boghara. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 07Trek from Boghara to Dobang (2500m).After the breakfast, we begin to trek following the west bank of the Myagdi stream and walk gradually to the Lipshe village passing the forest. Then we can enjoy the honey hunting scenery if we are lucky. Walking all the way through the forest, we reach to Dobang, where we can find several tea houses also. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 08Trek from Dobang to Choriban (3445m).From Dobang, we walk through the dense rhododendron forest right after the breakfast. Then we go through the bamboo forest, descend to the Myagdi Khola, cross the bridge and walk along the east bank of the Myagdi Khola, following which, we reach to Choriban after a short walk through the forest. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 09Trek from Choriban to Italian Base Camp (3660m). After the breakfast, again we walk through the rhododendron forest along with pine and birch that leads us to the meadow with a large open area. As the trail is going on higher and higher, the alpine meadows and the clear view of Mt. Dhaulagiri begins to appear. We reach to the Italian base camp and take a rest. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 10Acclimatization Day, As we are climbing up to the alpine altitude, we need to adapt ourselves to the altitude to avoid mountain sickness. We take an acclimatization rest at the Italian base camp, strolling around and enjoy the surrounding green hill views and the snowy peak on the horizon. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 11Trek from Italian base camp to Glacier Camp (4200m). From the Italian base camp, we head towards the Glacier camp, which is beautifully located between the Italian base camp and Dhaulagiri base camp. Through the steep down trail, filled with the icy glacier, we cross some of the challenging and technical sections. It may need some climbing equipment via Chonabarden gorge, we reach to the Glacier camp. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 12Trek from Glacier Base Camp to Dhaulagiri base camp (4748m). Through the glacial route, we begin to trek further after the breakfast. The continual walk crosses more than 500 meters, which is challenging and technical. In case, you feel some altitude sickness, you have to inform your guide or the climbing team member, so that instead of climbing, you should climb down. Enjoying the stunning views of the snowy Dhaulagiri peak and Dhampus peak, we proceed to the Dhaulagiri base camp and take a rest. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 13Acclimatization Day, The snowy range of the Dhaulagiri base camp is our rest place today. We are almost 5000 meters, so we take an acclimatizing stop. The tough session begins from here to climb up the 6000 meter peak. We walk around the base camp, which makes our following days' journey easier. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 14Trek from Dhaulagiri base camp to the hidden valley (5180m) via French Pass (5360m). We begin to trek from Dhaulagiri base camp crossing over the left of the Upper Chonbarden glacier. Climbing the steep uphill towards the lateral moraine ridge with the enticing views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Tukuche peak. Then we climb to the French Pass (5360m), which is a challenging pass. The Buddhist prayer flags flutter with the strong wind blow. From the high pass, we can explore the closer views of Dhaulagiri 8167m, Tukuche Peak 6920m, Mukut Himal 5970m and the neighboring peaks. From the French Pass, we trek down to the hidden valley. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 15Trek from Hidden Valley to Dhampus High Camp (5400m) via Dhampus Pass (5258m). After the breakfast, we commence through the alpine meadow with accompany of the excellent Himalayan views. We reach to the Dhampus peak base camp and take a rest. It is optional: if you think you need a rest today, we can settle a camp here, otherwise, we continually ascend to the high camp through the glaciated passes. We set a camp and prepare the peak climbing equipments and do some pre-climbing practices. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 16Summit from high camp to Dhampus peak (6012m) and descend to Alu Bari (3900m). With a good preparation, we begin to climb the Dhampus peak following better commandment of the climbing guide, dealing with the technical sections. Reaching the Dhampus summit, the excellent views of Annapurna I-V, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tilicho and Tukuche peak. Summiting the peak, we climb down to the base camp and continually trek to Alu Bari. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 17Trek from Alu Bari to Jomsom (2720m) via Marpha (2670m).After the breakfast, we begin to walk further from Alu Bari to Jomsom, which is the district center of the Mustang region. On the way, we pass the Marpha village, which is also known as the apple orchard. Marpha brandy alcohol has gained its popularity. Overnight at lodge.
Day 18Fly back to Pokhara and connect fly to Kathmandu.Early morning, we fly back to Pokhara from Jomsom. The stunning Himalayan panoramas bid farewell you from the Annapurna and Mustang region. Then we connect another flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu. After that, transfer to the hotel and take a rest. Cheers for the successful trip. Overnight at hotel.
Day 19Bhaktapur and Patan sightseeing or the day free for shopping. We set out for the sightseeing in Kathmandu valley. If we had done sightseeing in Kathmandu on the second day of your arrival, we take you for the sightseeing in Bhaktapur and Patan Durbar Square. They are the places where you can explore the ancient arts and architectures, pagoda style temples and the sculptures. Overnight at hotel.
Day 20Departure to International AirportThe last day of the trip, the representative of the Alpine Excursion Treks and Expedition drops you to the airport. Thank you for joining us for your memorable trip. See you again.
